I am an amateur triathlete trying to make time among a very busy schedule to stay in shape and train for races. I have three children under the age of 3, a full time job, a wife and I’ve just started pursuing a graduate degree. All in all, I have between 30min-2hr per day to train, and that’s probably being generous.
I have friends who don’t have kids who are able to spend hours every week getting in shape, running, cycling, swimming, and I wish I was able to do that. I can see how fast they are and free to get out and take advantage of the beautiful weather but I have to keep in mind feeding schedules, bed times, homework and all kinds of other things that keep me away from exercise. In the midst of the madness, I know that I need to exercise even when I don’t feel like I can. Exercise keeps me focused, gives me energy and gives me a chance to get some personal time.
That’s the inspiration behind this site. I’m not an expert in exercise physiology. I’m not a personal trainer. I’m not an athletic coach. I’m just a regular guy who’s trying to make the most out of my schedule and hoping to give some inspiration to ohters in the same boat.
I plan to post articles, workouts and any other information I can to help you get the most out of your workouts too.
